Hast x Nona Source, Acte II

Hast x Nona Source, Act II

Read time 6

Last November, we proudly presented the fruit of an exceptional collaboration with Nona Source , a platform dedicated to the valuation of dormant stocks of the LVMH group's Houses .

Six months later, your servants and this big name in French creative circularity are back at it again and have created a new capsule collection focused on responsibility, expertise and quality.

On display are 7 exclusive creations at the crossroads of ethics and luxury , all made from precious materials usually reserved for Haute Couture.

Nona Source, or the art of awakening “sleeping beauties”

Created in 2021, the Nona Source platform revalues luxury surpluses by making available to players in the sector exceptional materials left dormant by the major Houses of the LVMH group.

A pioneer in upcycling, Nona Source offers a second life to premium materials stored in the warehouses of Fashion Houses , allowing designers to obtain exceptional materials at a lower cost while typically reducing their ecological footprint.

According to its co-founders themselves, "this desire is the result of a deep ambition to legitimize undead materials as a sourcing alternative, with the aim of encouraging the cultural transformation of the future of fashion. "

A programmatic aspiration in which we fully identify since it combines sustainability, eco-consciousness and the promotion of artisanal heritage.

Hast x Nona Source, chronicle of a romance foretold

Without a shadow of a doubt, there is a natural complicity between Hast and Nona Source.

For us, who have been promoting noble fibers, beautiful fabrics and quality knits for over 10 years ; working alongside a company committed to the requalification of the most beautiful materials on the market is obviously relevant.

Like the partnership formed at the end of 2024, this new collaboration reaffirms a shared passion for Beauty , embodied for the occasion by the most admirable in the textile world.

The Hast x Nona Source capsule collection

With the introductions out of the way, let's get straight to the heart of the Hast x Nona Source capsule. Gentlemen, here are the 7 precious pieces we're offering you in limited editions:

  1. The Tussah silk canvas jacket

The hidden daughter of the work jacket and the safari jacket, this piece of bravery combines worker and military inspirations to form a most unique hybrid. Beyond its three patch pockets with flaps, it is its drawstring that makes three-quarters of its charm: from a straight cut with workwear influences, you can switch to a slim-fitting field jacket style cut by marking the waist thanks to this interior adjuster.

As for its grainy texture, which rivals the finest tweeds, it is an irregular canvas woven from pure Tussah silk. Unlike silkworms, which feed on mulberry leaves, Tussah worms ingest oak leaves and therefore produce a silk thread renowned for its strength.

Woven in Italy, the rolls of material we sourced from Nona Source boast a matte finish and raw texture that differ greatly from the silkiness typically associated with this natural fiber. Paired with a beautifully heathered crème brûlée color, this unique hand gives the jacket abysmal depth and rare charm.

  1. The jacket in wool and silk radzimir

Same shell, new material: the second jacket in the Hast x Nona Source capsule collection shares the same design as its predecessor, but is made from a completely different fabric. Here, a 57% wool, 43% silk Radzimir replaces the canvas, giving the garment a distinctly more satiny feel.

In fact, Radzimir favors silkiness over texture, using fairly fine threads, a regular weave, and a dense weave to showcase the silk's lustrous side. Crafted in a sumptuous emerald green, it catches the light fabulously and delivers an absolutely striking color palette.

Present in almost equal proportions, wool and wild silk combine their respective properties to create this powerful piece: strength, breathability, and structure on one side; fluidity, luster, and refinement on the other. A great lesson in balance.

  1. Gurkha pants in pure wool

First pants from this new collaboration with Nona Source, The Gurkha is directly inspired by the uniforms of the Nepalese troops to which it owes its name. For the occasion, we took the liberty of giving it a more sartorial accent, working a 6 cm belt, marking a deep crease along the leg and integrating two pairs of darts into its construction.

Similarly, we opted for a more generous cut than traditional styles, featuring a straight leg and a 20.5 cm ankle opening. A way to give a more modern and urban twist to this two-century-old piece, straight out of the operating theaters.

In this looser, more dressy version, the Gurkha stands out as a choice alternative among elegant leg pieces. This is especially true since ours is adorned with a gray wool tricotine woven in Japan, promising a fluid drape and an impeccable fall. An Everest of elegance.

  1. Hollywood pants in linen and lyocell woven fabric

On a different note, the second pair of pants in this capsule collection is just as original. These are drop-loop pants, or "drop loop trousers" for short. For several years now, another nickname has been circulating among sartorial enthusiasts: the Hollywood trouser. Unsurprisingly, this nickname is due to the popularity of this construction in the lair of the film industry in the aftermath of World War II.

As you can see, its eccentricity lies in its rather low belt loops. A detail as rare as it is iconic, which we have chosen to rehabilitate to give these pants a free and nonchalant look. Enhanced by a loose fit, two pairs of pleats, a marked crease along the leg and a 5 cm turn-up on the ankle, it forms the ultimate synthesis between tradition and modernity.

Thanks to Nona Source, we were able to create this one in a sensational fabric: a 420 g/m² gray woven fabric , made in Italy for a major fashion house from linen (70%) and lyocell (30%) fibers. Experience the luxury of a canvas with an all-natural character, perfectly structured and incomparable fluidity.

  1. The cotton poplin popover shirt

A key piece in the Hast wardrobe, the shirt has been our guilty pleasure since 2012. So we had to put it in the spotlight as part of our second collaboration with Nona Source, and that's done with this popover model in cotton poplin.

Paired with a smooth, soy-blend fabric of 130 g/m², its original design blurs the lines by simultaneously playing the sportswear card and that of formal elegance. Indeed, we find united the official fabric of dress shirts and certain codes from the world of sport (like the polo-style half-button placket, the straight slit hem or the pleat in the back). Add to that a perfectly balanced French collar, a fine black stripe on a white background and mother-of-pearl buttons, you will obtain a subtle blend of preciousness, finesse and versatility.

  1. The Sea Storm short-sleeved shirt in cotton twill

We are staying in the world of shirts here but taking a sharp turn towards casualness: our short-sleeved cotton twill shirt is fully in keeping with the Riviera summer elegance .

Of course, it incorporates all the codes of the modern shirt, starting with the indescribable Cuban collar, the loose fit, the lightweight fabric (143 g/m²) and the patch pocket on the heart side. In addition, we offer you a very original "Sea storm" shade, precious blue mother-of-pearl buttons sewn in a cross and a delicious cotton twill certified Better Cotton Initiative - an international label that guarantees good working conditions and production respecting the rules of integrated agriculture.

Loose and comfortable, this shirt offers great freedom of movement, ideal for a casual chic style.

  1. The green short-sleeved shirt in cotton twill

Same style, new color. For summer, we're offering another cotton twill shirt, dyed in a new color and made with a lighter fabric. In fact, a spruce green replaces the storm blue here; and a 125 gsm Italian twill replaces the 143 gsm twill. A thinner but equally comfortable version, it offers great freedom of movement and maximum ventilation.

The final word

Unique pieces in a limited collection, the HAST x Nona Source capsule collection lovingly evokes the inextricable bond that persists between art and craft. When the best of textile know-how meets the accuracy of eco-conscious thinking, the result is truly magnificent.
