Cool wool

2 min read

Wearing wool in the sun is not a paradox: it is a technical refinement. At Hast, we have designed a suit capable of defying the thermometer without ever sacrificing the structure of tailoring.

Discover our new cool wool suit, a piece designed for those who refuse to choose between thermal comfort and an impeccable look.

Cool wool: the ideal fabric for summer?

While wool is often associated with winter, its "cool" version (or fresco) is the best-kept secret of the summer menswear wardrobe.

Exceptional breathability

Unlike tightly woven fabrics, our Italian cool wool is woven with a very open structure. At a featherweight 165 g/m², it allows air to circulate freely, naturally regulating your body temperature. It is a "dry" fabric that wicks away moisture while remaining cool to the touch.

Impeccable drape and crease resistance

One of this fibre’s great advantages is its resilience. Cool wool naturally resists creasing. Whether you spend three hours in a meeting or are travelling, your suit retains its clean line. You remain impeccable from morning to evening, even under bright sunshine.

The suit jacket: a balance of tradition and modernity

Our sage cool wool jacket is not merely a matter of fabric; it is the result of meticulous construction for a modernised silhouette.

Half-canvassed construction

For this piece, we chose a half-canvassed construction. This technique offers the best of both worlds: the structure of a traditional jacket across the upper chest and greater suppleness below. It adapts to your body over time for tailored comfort.

Details that make the difference

Every element has been designed to balance style and discretion:

  • 8.5 cm lapels: a classic, assertive width for timeless elegance
  • Structured shoulder: a lightly built shoulder head and a subtle "cigarette" (the roll at the top of the sleeve) for a clean yet natural look
  • Careful finishing: two flap pockets, a breast pocket and four-button cuffs

Pleated trousers: volume and precision

To accompany this jacket, we designed pleated trousers with a distinctive character.

A roomy regular fit

Far from restrictive cuts, these trousers offer a generous leg width (21.4 cm opening). This regular fit not only allows better air circulation, but also creates a more contemporary, assured silhouette.

Tailoring details

The trousers draw on the codes of fine tailoring, with:

  • A belt with a double button tab
  • A gusseted front pocket, a nod to the classic wardrobe
  • Two buttoned welt back pockets for a clean finish

How to wear a cool wool suit?

The strength of this sage green shade lies in its versatility. Worn as a full look with a striped shirt, it makes the ideal wedding or formal suit. For a more relaxed look, you can wear the pieces separately: the trousers with a knit polo shirt, or the jacket over raw denim jeans in the evening.

If you are looking for a more traditional yet equally technical option, this model is also available in a deep navy blue, an essential of the professional wardrobe.
