Our gloves, crafted in Naples

When founding Hast, we chose to specialise in shirts, one of the oldest garments and an essential for every man. The desire to give you access to long-lasting pieces and to appreciate fine tailoring, even on a modest budget, drives us in our craft every day.

Meeting the artisans and makers behind each craftsmanship always impresses us just as much, and that is certainly true of our new partner, with whom we developed our very first gloves.

We contacted this workshop, one of the world's last true master glovemakers, with barely concealed excitement. We wanted to take a closer look at this accessory, which is ultimately quite difficult to find. There are almost as many different gloves as hand shapes, and we noticed that most were either quite low-end or quickly overpriced. We are therefore offering you two pairs of gloves fresh from the workshop, with no middleman or excessive markups, to keep prices fair and well-controlled.

Naples is the world capital of glovemaking, with a craftsmanship dating back to the 17th century. The last and oldest great glovemaking family in Naples has allowed us to create these wonders! Crafting our gloves required no less than 25 different manual operations – 3 are needed just for cutting. Unlike modern factories, the leather is cut by hand with scissors, not stamped out.

Our master glovemaker personally selects each hide before tanning them in wooden vats and dyeing them. A specialised tanning method is used so as not to damage the grain, preserving beautiful suppleness and elasticity: this allows the leather to be worked afterwards and given its final look.
Choosing the hide, and therefore the leather, is a crucial step in crafting quality gloves. To ensure high quality, the leather must naturally be able to stretch across its width, never in length. These remarkably supple gloves will mould to your hand year after year, developing a superb patina.

Wool is an excellent insulator that will keep your hands warm all winter long. Its thermoregulating properties make it a prime choice of material, all while remaining exceptionally soft – delightfully comfortable in freezing weather.
