Nicolas has a touching sensitivity. This 45-year-old events manager expresses his desire to create and experiment through self-portraits that invite reflection. Nicolas saw posing for Hast as a challenge to himself. And in front of Julie's lens, our photographer, we find a man of great elegance.
Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Nicolas, I am nearly 46 and have lived in Paris for 14 years.
What do you do for a living?
I am a project manager in corporate events. Outside work, I try my hand at photography; it is a way for me to see the world differently, focused through my lens.
When do you wear shirts?
For every occasion: daily for work, but also at family celebrations or with friends. Shirts suit every style; they are the essential piece for being well dressed every day. A shirt is both elegant and relaxed: depending on what you pair it with, it can be very casual or highly sophisticated. With an open collar or a silk tie, jeans or flannel trousers.
How would you describe your style?
Casual, but people always say I am well dressed! I like choosing pieces that differ from what I already own; I experiment, play with patterns, colours and materials... And I always pay attention to what I buy, in terms of quality, fit and drape.

How did you discover Hast?
I discovered the brand through social , Instagram or Facebook, I think. I remember visiting the website and quickly looking up the address in Paris because, while the internet is a great way to discover young brands and find good deals, being able to touch the product, try it on and get advice remains a pleasure and a real moment of discovery! There is a certain emotion in person that is not easily found online.
What makes the brand interesting, in your view?
The quality of the materials and cuts, and of course the price! I have Hast shirts in my wardrobe that are over 2 years old, still immaculate and that I continue to wear! There is real work in the fabric and finishes that you do not find elsewhere at this price point. And importantly, the quality has not changed since the beginning; it is still just as beautiful. And then, I know my sizes, so I can shop with my eyes closed; that is also one of the brand's strengths.

Why did you want to take part in the shoot?
A challenge to myself. When I saw the call, I hesitated about taking part. I found the project very human and interesting, and Hast is a brand I appreciate, but I did not know whether I would be capable of it. It was a bit of a challenge, to see whether I could pose, whether I could do this kind of thing, and in the end I am now one of a brand's ambassadors. Imagine if I end up on the Underground!!
Any final words?
I can't wait to see the result of this wonderful project!
