Understanding the shirt through the lens of a pizza: that is the challenge we set ourselves for Pitti Uomo, to show that elegance can go hand in hand with simplicity. Our idea of sprezzatura!
From growing wheat to your plate, and from cotton to your wardrobe, the stages follow one another and bear a resemblance—and our Italian supplier would not say otherwise!
Pizza dough
« A good pizza necessarily begins with dough made according to the rules of the art. Once you have tasted the delicacy of Neapolitan dough, it is difficult to settle for a frozen pizza. »
The same goes for our fabrics: we cannot imagine working with anything of lesser quality. A shirt may be superbly made, but if the fabric does not measure up, it will be of little interest. We are convinced that beautiful raw materials make all the difference: we work exclusively with the finest suppliers in Italy, Japan and Portugal to obtain fabrics of great finesse (and a wonderfully crisp hand). All our formal shirts are made from two-ply fabric, a mark of quality: only the longest cotton fibres are used in this process. In a more raw and authentic style, our casual shirts are designed with distinctive textures, always produced with great craftsmanship.
The seasoning

Hast shirts are assembled according to different formulas: casual, formal or premium. A casual shirt will indeed have a more generous cut, allowing greater freedom of movement, while the premium shirt will feature mother-of-pearl buttons sewn in a « zampa di gallina » pattern. Each has its own particularity, and that is their strength! Depending on one’s mood and the occasion, one can therefore opt for more or less sophisticated fabrics, cuts and collars: a white shirt in poplin with a Mao collar for a change from the more classic point collar, checks for a more graphic look! Anything is possible when it comes to finding your signature style.
