Our organic cotton clothing
For our customers as for us, preserving the environment is a major priority. So much so that it has been at the core of Hast’s philosophy since its founding in 2012. By positioning ourselves in an underserved segment of menswear, we set out to promote a more ethical and virtuous industry with durable, timeless clothing. Several years on, we can say the venture is a success: Hast has earned the trust of a loyal following — for which we are truly grateful — and built an inspiring model. Yet this commitment is also a daily challenge that we take on with conviction. After all, consumption habits do not change overnight, and economic ecosystems carry monumental inertia. Cotton clothing is one of those pieces with particularly high stakes: highly demanding in water and resources, yet unthinkable to do without given its extraordinary qualities. Soft, lightweight and hypoallergenic, it is the ideal material for making clothing and underwear. That is why it is essential to direct our production towards organic cotton, which better respects the environmental and social demands of an industry in full transformation.
In theory, everyone is in favour of organic, even the least environmentally conscious companies. Yet one still needs to know what lies behind the term, which is sometimes used rather loosely. An organic cotton garment is one made without any pesticides, chemical fertilisers, insecticides or GMOs. The objective is threefold: to protect the surrounding ecosystem (local flora and fauna), allow the soil to regenerate, and protect the workers who farm and harvest the crops. Mind you, this does not mean organic cotton requires very little water: as the plant naturally needs it, a certain volume of water is necessary to grow it. However, the organic cotton plant requires significantly less water than conventionally grown crops.
Hast strives to promote organic clothing across its entire range. And as Rome was not built in a day, our organic collection continues to expand. Where this is not yet possible, we require our garments to meet OEKO-TEX certification, which guarantees the ecological and health safety of textiles. From shirts to T-shirts, work jackets and polo shirts, discover our ever-growing range of organic cotton clothing now.
Organic, but not just any

What guarantees?
But how can you verify that our cotton garment truly meets these criteria? Today, there are numerous certification bodies with varying standards. At Hast, we have chosen to go with the global benchmark: GOTS, or Global Organic Textile Standard, which ensures that the organic cotton garment in question is at least 95% organic.Spoilt for choice
