Winter is approaching, bringing with it the need to find a coat worthy of the name for the cold season.
More than a shield against the elements, the coat is a statement piece, visually imposing and particularly decisive in shaping a silhouette. As such, it should be chosen with care, with every detail considered attentively. Length, cut, volume, fabric: all these factors influence the final result; and we have studied each of them with the utmost care in designing ours.
The different types of coats
A covering garment designed to be worn over other clothes, the coat is an essential ally below 10 degrees. Heir to a history stretching back millennia, it has taken dozens of forms over the centuries and still appears today in a variety of guises. More or less long, more or less wide, more or less enveloping, more or less structured, it comes in many forms, some of which inspire us particularly. Here are the ones we have chosen to offer you:
- the wool coat with tailored collar. Made from a heavy 350 gr/m2 wool cloth, this long coat with a tailored collar is undoubtedly the most traditional piece in the wardrobe. With its generous lapels and concealed button fastening, its clean lines, structured shoulders and crisp design will delight lovers of classic elegance.
- the double-breasted wool coat. Directly inspired by the pea coat, this style allows one front panel to be buttoned over the other depending on the direction of the wind. Originally, this ingenious feature allowed sailors to protect themselves from the cold by limiting draughts. Today, we invite you to make the same use of it on dry land, all with a certain distinction. An elegance to which the generous collar before your eyes is no stranger. Crafted in a very heavy 490g/m2 cloth and in a sublime Donegal fabric of 366g/m2, this coat combines thermal performance and majesty like no other.
- The reversible mac. This two-in-one model plays the versatility card brilliantly. 100% water-repellent cotton on one side and 100% Shetland wool with an ecru and khaki herringbone pattern on the other, it combines practicality with pleasure thanks to its highly precise construction. A water-repellent side for rainy days, a smarter side for milder weather: this long raglan-sleeved coat is the perfect choice for those who like to combine aesthetics and versatility.
- The Balmacaan. Recognisable by its generously rounded cut, this coat of Scottish origin is ideal for the coldest days of the year. Particularly enveloping and comforting, we are offering it in two versions this winter: a green herringbone wool fabric and a brighter grey herringbone fabric.
- The duffle coat. An icon of British elegance, this coat comes straight from the Royal Navy, which decided to equip its sailors with it in the last century. For the first time this winter, this tour de force joins the Hast wardrobe, reworked in an elegant two-tone ecru and beige herringbone pattern – a colourway developed exclusively for us. Naturally, you will find all the details that have forged its legend: thick wool, wooden toggles, reinforced frog fastenings, adjustable hood, lined sleeves, and so on.
- The aviator jacket. Shorter than a jacket, it cannot claim the title of coat and must settle for that of “blouson”. Taking certain flight jackets from the American military as models (notably the A1, A2 and B3 styles), we have created these two models with a comfortable cut and soft shoulder designed for layering. 100% wool fabric, genuine upcycled sheepskin collar, durable ribbed trims, concealed zip fastening: everything has been designed to keep you warm with plenty, plenty of style.

To be or not to be elegant? That is the question. And with the wool coat with tailored collar, the answer is always the same: yes. A thousand times yes. Whenever the occasion calls for dressing up, putting it on is undoubtedly the best idea. It also works for pleasure, perhaps even more so.
For an afternoon by the sea: the double-breasted wool coat
Born of the sea, our double-breasted coat would not be averse to returning to its roots for a stroll along the coast. If there is one piece that does not fear sea spray and the open air, it is this one, and it would be a shame not to make the most of it. In the most elegant way possible.

Idea no. 1: the tailored-collar coat in the spotlight
More than ever in winter, earthy colours stand out against the season's grey. To accompany the brown of our most elegant coats, we suggest generously cut green trousers whose proportions will match the grandeur of their neighbour. Like a shaft of light, a white jumper would draw the eye towards the top of the outfit, and especially to its pinnacle: the remarkable notched lapel collar.
Idea no. 2: the newly arrived double-breasted coat
To flatter its maritime origins, there is nothing better than pairing our double-breasted coat with a navy beanie and a bluish shirt. A hymn to the timeless colours of the sea, sister and friend to this piece modelled on the pea coat.
Idea no. 3: an ode to texture for the reversible mac
A two-sided beauty, our reversible coat offers a double dose of texture as well as twice the functionality. A unique opportunity to emphasise the character of your outfit by focusing on fabrics with a rich hand. A fluffy knit and thick corduroy, it is perfect.
